God is good, all the time.

God is good - ALL the timeSometimes I feel like I’m not worthy of God’s blessings. What in my life do I accomplish that makes Him proud? What do I do that pleases him? A lot of the time, no most of the time, I don’t even have an answer for it. But do you know what God does? He still BLESSES us! Even at our lowest when we don’t deserve any blessings at all. That, my friends, is a loving God. I am so thankful that I serve a merciful and glorious King!!! Ain’t you?

One of these blessings happened Monday of this week.

My husband has worked at his current job for going on 9 years. He started in high school as a 2nd shift worker and was promoted to 3rd shift supervisor about a year later. At the time we thought it was grand! Who doesn’t love a promotion? Over the years he’s been switched around from 3rd to 2nd, depending on their workload. My husband changed. He couldn’t keep up. It was like the world was going on around him and he wasn’t a part of it. No matter how much rest he got, he was ALWAYS tired. Sometimes he couldn’t sleep but maybe 2 hours and sometimes he slept 12, but he still was just as tired either way. It was horrible. The long-term effects wore in. He would nod off to sleep in church, at our son’s games, parties, you name it. He was there physically, but not mentally. He was drained. Last year we nearly got a divorce. You can read more about that here. The pressure of this night shift lifestyle finally had worn thin. Neither of us could take it anymore. But, we eventually worked through our problems and reconciled.

My husband was in a motorcycle accident back in November 2015, you can read more about it here. This put him out of work for a little over 3 months. I cannot tell you how much my husband had changed. No longer did he sleep at family gatherings. He was completely AWAKE at Christmas!! He actually got to see our son open his presents without having to constantly move to stay awake. He was changed. Oh, we both loved it. Our marriage was going just as good as it had ever. Things were turned around. We were a normal family again! Gosh it was a blessing.

Our anxiety escalated when it was time for him to go back to work. We both had become so accustomed to this new, normal lifestyle that we didn’t want to see it go. We had yearned for this so long, but it seemed so short. We HAD to do something about this.

So we prayed.
I prayed with a humble heart, 2 Chronicles 7:14, a believing heart, Matthew 21:21-22, a thankful heart Philippians 4:6. I prayed all the time, 1 Thessalonians 5:17!!

Pray Without Ceasing

The Love God Greatly Growing Through Prayer Bible study, more information here, is a must-do Bible study!! It strengthened my relationship with God and taught me the correct way to pray. I’ve written an entire post about how this online community changed my life for the better, read here!

Joshua, my husband, went to his hand doctor (because he broke his wrist), Monday. After the appointment, he stopped by his work to give an update on when he will be returning. Do you know what his boss told him? You’ll never guess. His boss told him he was going on first shift!!! I was so overjoyed I could have cried!!!! I almost did 😉 After going on 9 years of working for this manufacturer and many, many heartaches – this is where we are. I am so very thankful and blessed.

We serve a mighty God, Jeremiah 32:18, a merciful God, Deuteronomy 4:31, & a loving God, 1 John 4:10.

I am so thankful I know Jesus and I asked him to enter my heart on March 20th 2009. Oh how I am truly blessed. I cannot tell you where I would be if I wasn’t saved. I know I would be lost, headed toward a devils hell.

This is only one reason God is good, all the time.
