Women’s Bible Study – Love God Greatly – a Christian Bible Study

AHHHH!!!! Love God Greatly just released our new Bible study and it’s over DAVID!!!!!! Let me just say David is one of my most favorite people in the Bible from the brave little boy to the strong warrior. The adversities he faced were heavy… BUT he never turned away from God. A lot of the book of Psalm was written by David, praising God’s Holy name and thanking Him! Wow!!! What a Christian man after God’s own heart! I can’t wait to dig deeper and learn more about him. These two weeks cannot come fast enough!

Dailey Womens Bible Study

My lovely Facebook friends are probably sick and tired of seeing me post about my Bible studies… I post every new study and post during the study and even post at the end of the studies. But this Bible study group has done so much for me! I want other women to experience to the joy and comfort they can have simply by digging into God’s word EVERY DAY!

In this previous post I wrote a heart-felt testimony on what this Bible study has done for me. It was featured on Love God Greatly’s Saturday Feature where it was exposed to over 65,000 subscribers in 15 different languages in over 70 countries!! This was an extremely humbling experience for me… Hearing so many testimonies from ladies who were going through similar situations as I had and to give them a little comfort… It was titled “Refined by Fire” and you can view it here. The comments on the post were heartbreaking… Women going through very difficult times in their lives. Women talking about coming back to Christ and getting their lives back on track. My heart was so humbled to give these sweet ladies hope and courage to move through and to give advice on how I made it through one of the most difficult times I had ever faced.

God has used this Bible study in so many ways of my life. He used it to help heal my wounds when my husband and I went through this lengthy separation. He used it for peace and security when my husband had a motorcycle wreck and was out of work for three months. He’s also used/is using this study for peace and comfort while my grandfather – who adopted me – is battling stage 4 lung cancer.

I cannot tell you in words how much this study has blessed my life. I started it because I wanted a Bible study that was free and a daily Bible study. Yes, you read that right. FREE. 100%. You can sign up for the materials and do the study completely on the computer. I would advise to at least print them out. When I would do the studies on the computer I was less likely to follow through with my every day studies. I found that when I printed the studies out I was more accountable for studying that day’s lesson.

You can also purchase the books here on Amazon. The past two studies this is what I’ve done instead of printing them out. They have beautiful coloring pages and memory verse pages. I like to keep these books and study them over when our eight weeks are up and having them binded together securely helps keep the pages together.

The way this study works is simple. We study a book of the bible for 8 weeks. Monday – Friday (some people also study Saturday’s). The study will go through each verse of the book/lesson and you will SOAP a specific verse in your study for that day. For example – in Ecclesiastes you might have Chapter 12 verses 12-13 and only have to “soap” on 13.

What does S.O.A.P. mean?

S– The S stands for Scripture you physically write out the scripture……you’ll be amazed that what God will reveal to you just by taking the time to slow down and actually write out what you are reading!

O– The O stands for Observation what do you see in the verses that you’re reading? Who is the audience? What words stand out to you? Does the verse repeat a word? Does the verse use other adjectives to describe the same word?

A– The A stands for Application- this is when God’s Word becomes personal. What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my own personal life? What changes do I need to make? Is there an action that I need to take?

P– And finally P stands for Prayer. Pray God’s Word back to Him. If He has revealed something to you during this time in His Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life.

Studying God’s Word like this can take as little or as long as you have time to give. Some days it can take just 10 or 15 minutes, other days longer.

When you purchase the book or print out the studies you’ll have an example in the front and this same “How To Soap” description. It’s really easier than it seems. I have a friend who gets hung up on the “observation” part. If you look at the verse and just write out what you “see” about that verse, what you notice that stands out – you’ve just done the “0” part.

You can subscribe to Love God Greatly online here to get blog posts sent right to your inbox. These blog posts correlate directly with the study for that day; however, there are only posts on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s.  The posts are from the “moderators” (or at least that’s what I call them), and they walk through that day’s verse with you in their words and their thoughts. This is SO beneficial to me as I follow along with the KJV Bible and it sometimes is hard to understand, as is any Bible version. Hearing someone else’s accounts and thoughts help to study the verse better. I also recommend looking up different commentaries around the internet (from a trusted source).

I am also in a group on Facebook with other women who are following along with this study. Each day the study is posted in the Facebook group and the ladies put their thoughts and comments on the verse for that day. It helps to have multiple people’s thoughts/comments.

I’ve had a couple of people ask me questions about this Bible study and I wanted answer for everyone.

  • What if I miss a day or a week even? Should I just give up? NO! During baseball season I would get a week behind or so because we were on the ball field and didn’t get home until 9:30 at night… Please don’t give up! What I did was just caught up by doing 2-3 lessons at a time. I would save my emails with the blog post comments from the moderators and do the studies when I could.
  • What if I don’t understand a lesson? That’s okay. There have been A LOT of lessons I didn’t understand. I would look up commentaries and through the Facebook group I would see others responses. I would also pray for understanding and knowledge of His word and for God to show me what He is teaching to me.
  • This seems like a lot – can you help me get started? OF COURSE! If you would like some more information or you have more questions, please message me! I would love to hear from you and help you get started.

I want to end this by saying I am not a paid advertiser for Love God Greatly. I do not receive any compensation through them, whatsoever. I just want to help others experience what I have through this Bible Study. The only form of monetary compensation I will gain from this post is using the link above to buy the book from Amazon. That is it. This post is my own thoughts and opinions from my experience.
