How To Make EASY DIY Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Peeps!

I have to say I’ve probably gained 5 pounds from these yummy bunnies of goodness this past Easter weekend. They were SO good. I would have one then in a couple of minutes have another!!!! These Chocolate Marshmallow Peeps are a must for Easter!

I made these Chocolate Marshmallow Peeps for my son’s class. They were a huge hit with the kids. Best part for me was they were cheap to make and they were EASY.

First you’ll want to gather your ingredients.

  • Peeps
  • Cake Pop Sticks
  • Chocolate Candy Melt
  • Chocolate Candy Melter (optional)
  • Cake Pops Stand (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

I love my Wilton Chocolate Melter & cake pop stand. It seems like every holiday I use it! You can get your Wilton Chocolate Melter here, or get the Deluxe version like I have here. A similar cake pop stand can also be found on Amazon here.

Use heating instructions on chocolate to melt. If melting in a Chocolate Melter, just put the chocolate in and turn to “melt”. Stir occasionally.

While you’re waiting on the chocolate to melt, go ahead and put the peeps on the sticks. Be careful and do not put them all the way through. If you do this, like I did, the weight of the chocolate will make the bunny fall to the bottom. If some of them do this, it’s okay. Just wait until they’re dry & put them back at the top.

Once your chocolate melts through, you can put your melter on “warm” so it doesn’t overheat the chocolate and make it clumpy. I used a spoon and a butter knife and spread the chocolate evenly on the bunnies. Then added sprinkles while the chocolate was still hot. Then set in your cake pop stand & wait to dry. It dries fairly quick, I let mine dry for 30 minutes.

Chocolate Marshmallow Peeps Easter FoodBecause I’m a freak about germs – I individually wrapped each chocolate marshmallow pop. You don’t have to do this part, but I did as an added precaution!
