DIY “Do It Yourself” Apothecary Jars

I had dreamed of having those cute Apothecary Jars like they sell at Ikea or Hobby Lobby. I’d see cute posts on Pinterest or Facebook and I really, really wanted a set. I just couldn’t see paying upwards of $70 for them! So, when my sons Lego birthday party was approaching I finally had a good reason to make them! FYI, you don’t have to have a crafty bone in your body to make these beauties!

DIY Apothecary Jars

These jars are so cute, but so simple. It doesn’t take long to make them once you have all the materials. The investment of E6000 super glue is a must for any crafter, this stuff holds like Gorilla Glue! I made some redneck wine glasses several years ago, as decoration, and they still are going strong!

How to make your own apothecary jars:

I went to the local Dollar Tree and picked up 3 candlesticks and 3 jars the sizes I wanted my Apothecary Jars to be. I wanted cute knobs at the top so I went to Walmart and got a pack of two for around $4; I’m sure Lowes or Hobby Lobby have more options. I had some candle lids at home that I knew would fit perfectly, but you can also pick some candles up at Walmart. I was so excited to have all the material I couldn’t get in the door fast enough to start putting it all together!! I superglued the jars and the candlesticks together. I LOVE LOVE LOVE E6000 glue, I have used it on many, may projects without fail. I took the glass knobs I just picked up from Walmart and glued them to the top of the candle lid jars… And that’s all. Literally. All for around $10 I finally had my own Apothecary Jars.
