First Day of School Ideas
When my little man started Kindergarten I knew I had to have some awesome first day of school pictures! I scoured the internet looking for ideas. I’m so excited to share with you how we made his first day of kindergarten awesome!
I took an old picture frame and spray painted it blue. I then cutout letters and a star with my electronic cutter. I added the letters to the frame, and viola! A cheap and easy “First Day of Kindergarten” photo prop!
Next we did an interview the day before and I gave him questions and wrote his answers down. We’ve done this every year since and it’s so awesome to compare answers year after year! He loves doing it! I write out different questions. One side I write “favorites”. Like what is your favorite food, what is your favorite TV show, etc. The other side I write “What do you want to be when you grow up”, “What did you like best about summer?” “What are you hoping to learn about this year?”.
This next photo op didn’t turn out quite like I had planned. The day before I went into the driveway and drew a BIG K and decorated the inside of the K with polka dots and stars. I had Hunter lay inside the K. Just as I started taking pictures, it started RAINING! But I thought they still turned out cute 🙂
Another picture I take year after year is a picture of him actually walking out the door. By this point he’s aggravated and done with pictures so he’s READY to walk out the door!
Year after year we replicate these pictures! We love to see the changing features every year for our First Day of School Photo Session!
